Joining a Public Group

The easiest way to join a public group is using Outlook. This can be done using the Desktop or Web based Outlook app. In both cases, while on the 'Home' tab, click the ellipses (3 dots) menu towards the top right of the screen. You should see a Browse/Discover Groups option to select. From here, you just need to search for the group that you're looking for and join. If it's not a public group a 'Request' button will appear instead. This request is sent to the group owner for approval.
